Have you tried skydiving and already know that you want to make it your life?  Skydive instruction is a fun and fulfilling way to make a living.  The joy that most every student receives from your efforts is enough to keep you coming back day after day, and you get paid to do it.  Plus, you jumping out of a plane for your job.  There’s not a much better reason to ditch that boring job and make a career change into the world of skydiving.

About Skydive Miami
 

Skydive Miami is part a family of skydiving centers that operate in or around New York City area, Detroit, Washington DC, Miami (Obviously on this one), Dallas, San Diego and Los Angeles.  This family of participating skydiving centers continues to grow and the team of instructors and staff that support them continues to grow too.  Skydive Miami has been serving the skydiving needs of the Miami area since 1998.  Instructors that work out of the Skydive Miami facility are known to compete in skydiving championships, travel internationally for competition, work internationally as instructors, and work seasonal skydiving instructing jobs at other locations in the family of skydiving centers.  Are you interested in joining the team?

Skydive Miami is always looking for new, fun, energetic Skydiving Instructors to continue the fun and exciting experience it offers every skydiving student.  If you are interested in becoming part of this team, we welcome you to apply for one of our two Tandem Training Program options.   Skydive Miami offers these programs because the costs to get an instructional rating can be quite daunting.   The costs can range anywhere from $25,000 to $40,000.  Also, in order to become a tandem instructor you need to have been participating in the sport for three years.  This is measured by the day you did your first jump.  So, if you did your first jump today, you can get your tandem instructor rating in three years.  If you did your first jump two years ago, you can get your instructional rating in one year.  There are other requirements listed below.

General Requirements to become USPA Tandem Instructor:

  • Three Years in Skydiving Industry.  Strictly Enforced. 

  • 500 sport jumps.

  • FAA Second Class Medical (You should check to see if you qualify for this before going too far)

  • USPA Member

  • USPA Coach Rating (Course Required)

  • USPA Tandem Instructor Course

  • United Parachute Technologies Instructor Course. 

  • 5 practice Tandem Jumps with or with direct supervision of USPA Examiner

  • 5 practice Tandem jumps with experienced skydiver.

  • 15 More supervised tandem instructor jumps.

The Programs:

     1. One Year Accelerated Program.  You must have two 

         years’ experience in skydiving.

a. One year of intensive training and

    immediate ability to work as an instructor.

b. Skydive Miami helps arrange the payment of

    the upfront costs of instructional rating in

    exchange for long term commitment. 

c. Training Payments partially waived after

    three years of tandem skydiving instruction.

d. End training with the following ratings:

1. USPA Coach.

2. USPA Tandem Instructor.

3. FAA Rigger.

4. USPA AFF Instructor (Optional)

     2. Three Year Work In Training Program.  Ideal for people

         who did their first jump today.

a. Work in the industry as front desk check-in,

    parachute packer, skydiving coach for three

    years to gain experience in the industry.

b. Skydive Miami helps arrange the payment of

    the upfront costs of instructional rating in

    exchange for long term commitment.

c. Training Payments partially waived after three

    years of tandem skydiving instruction.

d. End training with the following ratings:

1. USPA Coach.

2. USPA Tandem Instructor.

3. FAA Rigger.

4. USPA AFF Instructor (Optional but likely)
